IRVING, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–

Vizient, Inc. and the AAMC (Association of American Medical Colleges) have launched the Clinical Practice Solutions Center (CPSC), an analytics platform for insights that help drive efficiency for academic and community practice organizations. CPSC is the only solution that provides physician practices with actionable, comparative data and collaborative intelligence to build a patient-focused, data-driven organization.

The CPSC — formerly known as the Faculty Practice Solutions Center (FPSC), which only served academic practices — leverages the 20-year partnership between Vizient and the AAMC. In addition to changing the name, the enhanced platform expands the types of providers served to include community-based physician practices as well as academic practices, providing users with access to powerful analytic tools, peer collaboration and advisory services to measure, monitor and drive efficiency for clinical and financial performance.

“We are excited to launch the Clinical Practice Solutions Center with its enhanced suite of analytics and tools. The changes were based on input from members and demonstrate our commitment to support improvement in practice design and the delivery of high-value care by aligning cost, quality and market performance. By expanding the focus of the CPSC to now include community practices, the richness of insight we’re able to provide will also expand,” said David Levine, MD, group senior vice president, advanced analytics and product management for Vizient.

“The Clinical Practice Solutions Center is a unique tool that is poised to bring efficiency and value to physician practices and ultimately improve patient care,” said Atul Grover, MD, PhD, AAMC executive vice president.

CPSC is more than a database. It is a provider and practice analytics solution that gives practice plan administrators and clinical leaders the insights to monitor and improve patient access and performance at the specialty, subspecialty and provider level. The solution can be utilized by individual practice providers to better understand:

Practice health: monitors physician productivity, identifies capacity constraints and analyzes service mix.
Patient access: highlights how current physician practice performance aligns to future service line strategies.
Patient outcomes: interprets quality and efficiency reports using comparative data.

“The AAMC and Vizient have had a long and productive partnership. We are thrilled to have worked together to take the Clinical Practice Solutions Center to an even higher level and look forward to the benefits that will accrue for all of our members now and as we move into the future,” said Janis Orlowski, MD, AAMC chief health care officer.

“We are pleased to continue our long partnership with the AAMC and expand the solutions we offer. Having immediate access to key practice health metrics is essential to lowering costs while also improving patient access and outcomes,” said Colleen Risk, chief people officer for Vizient.
