History

The History of Solvent Networks

Solvent Networks is the first call and best resource for hospital and health system leaders looking for solutions to their “pain points,” those daily, thorny issues and challenges that sap time and energy from the business of patient care.

The company, formerly known as SCHA Solutions, was created in 1992 by the South Carolina Hospital Association to help member hospitals find the best quality and price on business, operational and workforce solutions. We do the vetting and negotiating that hospital leaders don’t have time to do, and the result is a roster of endorsed partners with services and programs ready for immediate deployment. Solvent Networks continually works to find or build new tools to stay ahead of changing healthcare needs.

To earn our “Seal of Approval,” a company must demonstrate capabilities that address your needs as well as the highest standards of quality and customer service. In the unlikely event of a problem with an endorsed partner, we will act to resolve it quickly. It’s a “painless” process.

Revenue generated by Solvent Networks allows SCHA to invest in programs to improve healthcare in South Carolina and reduce pressure on membership dues. In 1995, we represented 3 percent of the SCHA enterprise budget. Today, that figure is nearly 50 percent.

A partial list of initiatives funded through Solvent Networks includes:

  • Scholarships, recruitment and training programs to develop the future healthcare workforce;
  • Personal membership groups, continuing education and professional development for current staff;
  • Programs to improve the quality of the workplace;
  • Advocacy on state and federal legislative and policy issues.
