For example, when asked about the top factors in choosing a rural practice location, administrators said “compensation,” while physicians responded “community culture.” In ranking incentives other than compensation, administrators focused on loan forgiveness and flexible scheduling, while physicians cited things like autonomy and leadership opportunities.
